So the other day I finally made my way over to Comicopia. I picked up a bunch of random stuff that I wanted, among which were the first issues of Dr. Horrible, Cinderella: From Fabletown With Love, Psylocke and Supergod.
I was disappointed by Cinderella, not disappointed but not altogether satisfied with Horrible, satisfied with Psylocke despite the fact that I have no idea what’s going on at all with the X-Men lately because I haven’t read them in a while, and beyond blown away by Supergod.
It’s not that the story of Supergod is anything quite yet, but I’m blown away by the foundations it’s putting down. Nothing’s altogether fleshed out quite yet, but it feels something like Roger Zelazny’s Lord of Light, which is one of the highest compliments I can bestow. If you like mythology, I think it’s going to be a good comic for you.
Additionally, I read the TPB of Irredeemable and the issues after that up to #8 and can also recommend that very highly.
So anyway, in the near future I’m hoping to read a bit of Walking Dead, some Invincible, X-Force (and just get caught up on Marvel in general, I hope), and various other incredible things that make me glad that I spend my money on comic books instead of food.
Job interview in the morning. Wish me luck.
